Default What's the difference?

I was on tire rack doing some comparisons on possible replacements for the stock pirelli scorpions when I found something interesting. There are two scorpion atr's for sale.

One is made in brazil

the other in mexico http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....TRV3&tab=Specs

The mexican tires are $15 dollars cheaper than the brazilian ones and they're 7 pounds lighter per tire but near as I can tell from the specs provided on tire rack they are identical. Any one know what the difference between the two is?

I can't speak for the tire comparison but I would be cautious with the ones made in Mexico. I was talking to a firearms instructor yesterday who we are sending back down to Mexico to teach some range courses to Estada Mayor. (Their version of Secret Service) He said they manufacture parts in Mexico for some good quality guns but that the replacement parts are junk and constantly break. Hopefully the tire companies have a stringent requirement on tires with their names on them but who knows.

I knew to stay away when there was price difference and a weight difference on two tires that are identical in every other way. To me, that sets off a red flag about the quality of one tire versus the other when they are supposed to be identical tires but one is cheaper and has a physical difference. I think I'll probably buy some michelin ltx m/s 2's for my next tires just based on how good ltx m/s and m/s2's have been on my dad and I's past 3 trucks
