I would say FX4, but I don't like chrome so the choice was easy. With waiting till The end of December I got my 2011 screw for around 33k which includes Ecoboost, luxury package, etc...

IMO FX4 is the way to go.. I just traded my 2010 fx4 for a 2012.. Except got everything I wanted on the 2012, when you talk about bang for your buck I have to go with the fx4.. Mine has everything a platinum has with the exception of the power steps.. But still for 10k less than a platinum..

I also don't care for chrome except on my wheels..

My opinion in 2011 models is the Limited. In some cases the MSRP on the Limited was almost $2000 lower than a comparable Platinum. And the Platinum only has 20's. JMO

I would have ordered an FX4 instead of my XLT if they would have offered the 40/20/40 front seat and the HD payload package. Both were/are a requirement for me.

This really boils down to what you plan on doing most with your truck and your appearance preference. And then, of course, money!

If it is a work truck, does it really need the interior comforts of the higher trims? If its your daily driver then you may want those "creature comforts." If you plan to offroad much you'll want 4x4 with the offroad package or an FX4 but then your decision would be based on the exterior appearances of the FX4 vs say an XLT or Lariat.

Basically this, like every other decision we make, comes down to $$. What can you afford? Of course we all want all the features of the highest trims but can we afford them? Only you can decide for yourself!

Agree on the bench seat but no the HD payload package.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned the XLT has the most incentives. Definitely the most bang for the buck.

Settled the lemon case with my 2011 XLT so now thinking hard about an FX-4 or Lariat. Don't want the same truck again.

My favorite is the Lariat- but working at the Ford Dealership myself a tip is all our salesman pick the Fx4 especially with the newer models, its just a mediocre lariat you just get to save the money of being able to call it at lariat.

XLT is prob best bang-for-buck, but, my STX has carpet, cruise, electric door locks and windows, 3: 73's, Coyote 5.0, tow package and a whole bunch more stuff ... and a few minor aftermarket mods.

Get the stx. It looks awesome and I added the Harley heads and tails. Love the rubber floors.
