Default What are your maintenance costs like?

I am a big Mint.com user (personal financial tracking) and was looking at my year to date Maintenance costs on my current vehicle. This year I've spent over $1600 on maintenance on my 2005 Acura TL, mostly due to having to change the timing belt back in January.

I'm curious to see what F-150 owners spend annually on maintenance.

Including: Oil Changes, preventative maintenance and non scheduled maintenance

Not including: mods, car washes and detailing spend

Thanks Guys!

So far for me this year has only been $44.86. But i have had my truck only 3 months. First oil change was free, so i only paid for the second one that i actually did like 2 weeks ago.

I use Mint.com as well. On my mini van i spent since January $4800. But that's because i replaced tires, brakes, suspension, starter, serviced the tranny, and a bunch of other stuff. But it's got 184,000 miles on it. So it needed all that done.

At 7000 miles, a tad less than $30.00 for an oil change—which I'm now getting for even less since the dealer sent me a rebate check for whatever reason.

The truck as been into the dealer twice. Once for a oil change, one to confirm an transmission leak (my truck was built in the bad tranny range of 4/16-6/8/11) both times without much fuss.

Yep, one at 2500 miles, and the other just here at 7147. I have 8689 miles on it as of today. I drive a lot everyday and sometimes i travel for work. So that piles on the miles really fast. It's 100 miles just from my house to work and anything in between everyday. So it's 500 miles for 5 days plus anything else i do. So give or take about 650 to 700 miles a week. lol

The next one is at 12147. So the sticker says. We shall see what the oil meter tells me.

Wow that's roughly 30,000 miles a year. That's a lot of mileage....moving closer to work isn't an option for ya bro, or maybe commuting.

So far, $30 in oil changes.

The Ranger I had before was about $200 a year in PM and routine maintenance and repairs.

The Toyota I had before that was about $1,000 a year - Toyota is very proud of their parts department.

Well, that is the problem, i did move closer to work. In fact i was only 10 minutes away. Then i took another position which was a no brainer because it was like 5 levels up from what i was doing, but the catch was that i had to move to our other offices. And seeing how the house was new, kid in school. Did not want to go through the hassle of all that.

So i am stuck making this drive daily. Moving is just not an option for me right now. House market is so low that i would lose out big time on my house if i sold it right now. So i am sitting tight right now until the market gets better.

Glad I didn't get the ecoboost.
The 5.0 only needs it every 10,000 miles.
If you had the 5.0 you would still be 1300 mile away from your first oil change....

The EcoBoost also is supposed to get it every 10,000 miles. And any new car from the get go you are told you have to do your first service right around 3000 miles. Then it's every 10,000 or better. Or when the oil meter tells you too. The dealer just likes to get you in before the 10k marker. I am okay with that. I think it's better to do it sooner than wait until later. So if they say i got to come back at 5k, then i will do just that.

But the EcoBoost also is every 10k.
