Default What is leveling...

When you guys talk about leveling your truck, what exactly are you referring to? Is this something that is necessary? If so, is this something you can do yourself...

these trucks come from the factory unleveled, (front lower than the rear) it's not necessary, but a lot of people prefer to have the front and rear of the truck to match in height. gonna get mine leveled in the next month or two.

It's raising the front of the truck 2" (or so) to level the truck...bigger tires and overall look. I plan on doing it because it's only $70 and my neighbor has a lift in his shop behind his house and has offered to help. Boom.

the way i understand it, when a truck comes from the factory, the rear is higher than the front so that when you put in a full load and it compresses the leaf springs, the truck becomes level.

i'm choosing not to level mine so that when i load it up, the back won't sink below the front. i passed a truck on the road with a 5-6 inch lift, leveled, with a big load in the back. his tail was sinking so much and his front end was sticking up in the air, it looked awful.
