Default What is a fair price for this truck?

Im back in the market after getting rid of my last truck and this caught my eye. I know it's not worth the price posted because I could get a fully loaded stx screw for around this price from the same dealer? What do u guys think is a good price to offer for this truck?

I wouldn't pay a cent over $20K. I payed only $12K more than they are asking for a new 2013 FX4 SCREW ECO with every single option.

I am always dubious about older vehicles with no miles on them. Been burned before and its because the vehicle sat in a body shop for 6 months after an unreported accident. This thing has averaged 2K miles a year. I'd love to hear the story behind that one. Plus, where was it sitting still all that time, garage or no?

Edit: Were those wheels/tires even an option back in '11? I've got the same ones on mine but I thought they were new for the FX.

run a carfax or something similar, strange someone would add the FX4 wheels to and XLT with a 301a pkg, no trailer tow. does it have ELD? even with low miles, i would not spend more than $25k. run an Oasis from Ford to see if any warrany work has been done. before you spend that much, what they are asking, i spend a little more and buy new.

Found my answer to the wheel/tire question here:

Looks like they were an option back then for the FX but not anything else. This isn't an FX which makes me wonder a bit. It says they were upgraded in the listing. Why would someone upgrade that on a lease vehicle, dealer or leaser?

It is worth close to what they are asking. Maybe take off 2.5k tops.

You can get a new one for 31k if a supercab would work for you.

I agree with this guy...
I paid just over 42k for my truck which has every option except the max tow in an FX4 supercrew. I think as soon as the 2015s hit the street theres going to be rebates from ford to get rid of remaining 2014 bodystyles and the usual old timers who buy a new truck every few years will be selling theirs to buy into the new bodystyle. I've never bought a vehicle from a used car dealer, I just never trust them. I would buy from a private seller.

I got a FX4 with a window sticker of 45,750.00 for 36,000.00 This was in Feb. of last year as well. That price just seems high although the miles are great! I think 25000.00 or under sounds better.

$20k is ridiculous. $25k is isn't even that realistic. KBB says $25,900 for "good" trade-in and NADA says retail is $31,950. So, this dealership is pretty fair in their starting asking price. The truck might be 3 years old, but it only has 5900 miles and looks in pretty good condition. They're gonna post a price that they will come down from because they know that everyone expects a discount and negotiation nowadays. Also, being that the truck appears to be in excellent condition, and if that matches with the true condition, I'm sure they gave the previous owner more than the "good" condition KBB value.

Get a carfax. Check the warranty work. And if all is well, then I would think something around the $27k mark would be a fair price to pay for it.

But, as others have said, I would also try to negotiate pretty hard on a new one before I bought this. I just got my 2013 a few nights ago. Sticker was $43,830 and I paid $32,500 for it. Yes, the dealerships will discount pretty heavy, but they don't give them away for free.
