What does this button next to my E-break do?
I have used my parking break/e break for breaks before when I had a ruptured break line in my wheel well from tires rubbing on a previous truck. Drove it 40 miles like that. You can feather the e break and drive slow and get to your destination safe. Maybe not the best idea but I did it.
I mean if you’re trying to catch me in a technicality ya got me. When I say electrical I’m referring to aftermarket alarm, aftermarket audio equipment, aftermarket lights that use a switch, etc.
Next time I’ll be more specific for those certain individuals out there.
Thanks for the lesson, bud.

The Wires and Connectors are not Ford so it might be something the dealer put on or something that wasn't there from the factory. Any of those mods let someone in the truck to work on it or did you do it all yourself?
It is a parking brake It is designed to hold the vehicle in place once it's parked. If you depend on it for an emergency I hope your life insurance is paid up. If you're the one and only owner you might need to have a chat with the dealer that sold it to you because that switch IS NOT OEM from the factory. It is a dealer add on Ford accessory or aftermarket accessory.
Also going by your signature here it looks like you added on plenty of electrical accessories, throttle body is electrical as is your superchips dashpaq, superchips amp'd and the Granatelli MAFS

When you put your foot on the brake pedal, and it goes to the floor, it’s an EMERGENCY!

Anyway i agree with the other responses it has to do with an aftermarket alarm/remote start. I had the same thing in another vehicle.
I knew what you meant by " E brake" and I'm sure many others did. Some people have nothing better to do than to correct people on things like that, or grammer mistakes Etc. They get some kind of enjoyment from it....or maybe just bored?

yeah I haven’t had time yet to trace out the switch. I assume it has something to do with the alarm (which is not aftermarket and is originals to the factory/dealer. Maybe the dealer installed something extra. I just need to trace it out. Just curious what the switch is for on the alarm system.
I just need to trace it out. Thanks for the help

I knew what he meant but rather than allow someone to look illiterate and making a fool of them selves I like to correct on things like that, it's called enriching ones vocabulary. The English language they say, is one of if not the hardest to conquer. If by my helping another person use it properly is wrong then I don't want to be right.

^^Did I need to do that? No. Is it petty? Yes.
Why worry about semantics when we can just enjoy the trucks we all have in common?
