hate to be "that guy" but (1) do a search - been covered as recently as yesterday and (2) check your owners manual - will tell you what you can tow.

I can answer some of this from my own search on the same topic. The trailer towing or towing package is standard on lariat trims and above and optional on lower models. It includes the 7pin wiring, the upgraded radiator and transmission cooler and rear axle change from standard (it changed from year to year I found) on mine, a 2009 the axle went to 3.55. Oh, and you get different tires-metric grade with more plys.

The max tow gets you up to the high-end payload and towing figures - all the stuff mentioned plus 3.73 axle, extra leaf springs and not sure what else.

I found that if you search online for the towing guide for your model year the specific information is available.

The odd piece is the trailer brake controller which was optional for my model even with the tow package.
