Default What is the best chip/programer for gas mileage

I have a 2009 Ford F-150 Platinum and i get about 10 to 11 avg mpg (I have a lead foot!) and was wanting to eather get a bullydog or a hyper tech chip. But what is the best one for gas mileage?

Primary purpose of a tuner is more power and secondary purpose is better mpg. You will affect your mpg more by how you drive then by just adding a tune.

Torrie with unleashed tuning has created a pretty impressive tune for gas mileage. Guys are seeing 3-5 MPG increases with no noticeable decreases in power. Good thing about ordering from him is you can get that tune plus 2 others (I.e. tow and performance) with customer service like I've never seen. If you email telling him about something you don't like or want to adjust, he usually fixes it within the hour. You'll pay a little more than getting "canned" tunes but the customization for your vehicle and support are worth the money to me. I had a superchips tuner, ran me $350, paid $450 for the SCT with 3 custom tunes from torrie and think its worth it.

I must agree with Franchi. I average 17mpg in my 09 5.4 with 3.55 gears. I use premium fuel and go easy on the accelerator and brakes. I'll still go about 5-10 over the speed limit, but I just take my time getting there.

Franchi is right on the money.

And stay away from Hypertech. It's over priced for what it does. Do yourself a favor and get an SCT X4 w/ some custom tunes. Your driving style will dictate your MPG's, but if you want performance gains and more enjoyable driving, get some custom tunes.
