So I come home from getting the works package at the dealer, and I find this hose just hanging there. They are closed until Monday. Anyone know what this hose's purpose is?

2013 5.0l 3.31 rear

I should also mention that I was t-boned by a USPS truck a month earlier which jolted my rear end pretty bad.

Any help is appreciated.

 

rear axle vent tube..just tie it back up out of the way..no biggie

It should attach to a breather cap that is affixed to the bottom of the bed.
