Default What is this?

Everytime I wash my truck I see this thing and wonder what it is and what it does. Just curious. (It is on the frame on both sides by the rear wheels.)

Im pretty sure that is a stop for the rear suspension. If you over load the suspension or blow a leaf spring/shock absorber it will catch the truck so it won't land on the wheels.

I believe it is a vibration isolator for the cab and bed. There was a thread on this a while back and that is what was the conclusion.

If you look, it is no where over the axle and it is higher than the frame.
