I like the fact that Sync will read a text message to you if your phone supports it (mine does) but I have noticed a weird issue with it. When it pops up and tells you that you have a message, it gives you the date. Mine has been giving a date of 1/21/2070. Not sure how long it has been doing this as I just noticed it a few days ago, but I did check the last 5 messages (all sent on different days) and they all have the same date. My Sync is up to date according to syncmyride.com The date is correct on my phone. I don't find anywhere in Sync to change the date. It is not an issue that is stopping Sync from working, it is just bugging me a little. Any ideas? Thank you

 

I don't know on a 2010, by I have to set the date on my 2013. Maybe the FORD Sync person on here can give you a hint...

 

how can you find out if your phone or truck will do the read back of texts?

Its more of a PITA, then anything! its easier to just read it on your phone! IMO Maybe yours is a Text from the Future... Jk

 

Corbin_AZ..... sync reads messages for certain phones. I have the Droid RAZR Max and it does it. I hit the button on my steering wheel and simply say "Read Messages".

 

My old Droid 4 did but my new Galaxy S4 doesn't support it. Kinda disappointing.

 

How do you set it up? I have a mini S3 which is compatible but texts never pop up in the display.
