so im getting this weird clanking sound when i takeoff or hit the gas after coasting.

it kinda sounds like the tranny is tryin to catch a gear but im really not sure. i tried recording it with my phone, u can kind of hear it at 4 seconds on the link below if u play it loud. everything else seems to be running fine, just kinda weird hearing this when no radio on and windows down.

any chance you guys can help? my build date was 9/10 so i think i have the current tranny flash.

At Idle I hear a distinct rattle/diesel type noise. Now if the truck idles and warms up , the sound goes away.... UNTILL, I drive or rev the engine, the rattle comes back momentarily. Then it dies away again. If the engine is allowed to idle (at operating temp) for anywhere from 30 sec to one minute the rattle dies away.

I can kind of make it consistent if i maintain a low rpm of about 2300.

any clues? i plan on going to dealer but just kind of want to kno where i want them to look. only have 3800 miles on the truck too.

 

I'm curious also??? My 2010 FX4 does the same thing.
