Weird battery issue
Hey guys, So Monday night I took my truck and filled it up and then brought it home and parked it. I took my Motorcycle to work yesterday so I did not drive it yesterday. I got home from work yesterday and went out to it and the Keyless entry didn't work. I open it with the key and the truck is DEAD. No electricity what so ever. I jump started it, and drove it around and parked it again. Went to get in it this morning and it started right up.
I know I didn't leave anything on on Monday, so does it sound like a battery issue? I just find it weird that it's not having the same issue anymore.
It's a 2013 XLT Crew 4x4 with 10k miles.

People are having battery issues with these trucks. I dont know a lot about it but have seen a few threads on this. Read this one:

Do you have a trickle charger? If so I would charge the battery up and then have it load tested. You could have a bad battery. Also, have your alternator tested to see if it is working properly.

Read the thread the above poster supplied.....
My truck has experience the battery issue explained in the thread. I had the battery tested at the dealer and on the first test, a short version the battery had a loss of 18% cold cranking amps. Yesterday it failed the load test and it was replaced. This will not correct the problem as there seems to be a parasitic draw not yet corrected.
I would keep your truck on a trickle charge after taking it to the dealer and asking for a load test.
Put your radio on and start the truck, then turn off the truck and listen to the radio, I would guess that you will get the message "battery saver start engine or turn ignition off". You may not get it every time.
Good luck!

I just had the battery in my truck replaced. Strange thing is it wouldn't start on saturday (tow truck couldn't boost it even) then it started just fine at the dealership on monday... They ran some load tests and the battery failed so they replaced it.
I had a problem with the electronics in my truck and took it in three times to three different dealers. The third one finally discovered that the battery was leaking and was bad. They replaced it barely under warranty and now everything is better. No idea what caused it but glad that it was caught right at the warranty.
