Agreed with everyone else on tuning it. I do not think the CAI is worth the money unless you just want to swap it. The stock intake IS an efficient CAI. I personally ended up with an AFE but only bc 5 Star was having a holiday sale, and I was planning to replace the abomination that the previous owner installed on my truck. The tuner is really where the gains come from though, but the CAI does look nice and made for a better exhaust tone. Exhaust would be a good upgrade mostly bc these motors sound awesome.
I don't know much about the Bully Dog tuners, but most people on here are using the SCT units and custom tunes from 5 Star, MPT, and a few others.

Edit to add: The tuner can cause warranty issues if you have any drivetrain type problems. They can see each time the PCM has been flashed. So long as you use a reputable tuner with lots of user reviews, I think it's fine (obviously since I'm custom tuned) but that's your decision.

Thanks guys, I guess the tuner is the answer. I am coming from a 6.0 Chevy into a 5.0 6 speed tranny and I just find it to be sluggish. Getting great fuel mileage but was thinking I could get it better.

Pretty sure the 5.0 spanks the 6.0 ... 6.0 is more torquey down low though so maybe that's what your missing

a 5.0 that's slower/sluggish more so than a 6.0? must be the gears in the rear end or something like that, my 5.0 just spanks on the 6.0s. leaves them asking if I have a ego booster and what mods I have done. every one who here's it is stock just about thinks I am lying!

... They probably think you're lying about graduating high school. Maybe they didn't hear you clearly?

The 6.0 would have felt more responsive down low because it had more torque down low under light throttle. my dads 2000 6.0 has a nice instant response that is just not possible with a throttle-by-wire setup.

If you are looking for an intake or exhaust I can tell you from experience that those will not give you the "wake up" satisfaction that you are looking for when coming from the 6.0. They do now really add anything to the bottom end. You will not need to tune for either or both, I didn't. An intake and exhaust did help, but mostly on the top end and not to a significant degree that a tune will.

A 4" exhaust could actually cause you to lose power if anything. N/A engines like velocity in the exhaust to help scavenge the exhaust out of the cylinders. There's no power to be gained on the 5.0 from an aftermarket catback so long as you leave the stock Y-pipe collector in there because it necks down to 2.5" in there. I cut it out and went dual exhaust all the way back and really liked to result sans a little but f drone at about 60mph.

That being said, I recently bought the Magnuson supercharger. I have not installed it yet but when I do expect thorough reviews from me. I had not actually planned to buy one because I always figured it was out of my budget but I ended up getting a deal I could not refuse.

If you want an Intake I have the Bully Dog intake that I will sell soon, very soon if you are interested. I'm selling it because the angle of the intake does not match the stock one so the supercharger intake tube will not fit. Send me a PM if you are and I'll remove it now and post it in the for sale section. I'll also be selling the Boss intake I have.

If he's one of the unlucky 2.5% that could happen.

I would be very careful with putting anything aftermarket on the engine. Any manufacturer will look for ways to avoid warranty claims. Nissan voided warranty claims on K&N filters saying it caused oil from the filter to be pulled in and mess up the sensors.

Wait until the truck is out of warranty before messing with that stuff.
