Arrow verticle gear indicator gone

My verticle gear indicator disappeared from my gauge cluster. I have a 2011 xlt sc 4x4 /5.0/3.73. Until this happened today, there have been no problems with this truck. 4745 mi. on it. Help please,I'm not due to go to the dealer until oil change time. Thanks!
bottom gear indicator still works and if I go to manual mode, the side[verticle] indicator shows what gear I'm in.

Put it in drive while running and toggle the manual switch on the stalk.

Could be a neutral safety switch. Had a Chevy do that to me once and that's what it turned out to be.

When you toggle it on, it disappears again when the truck is restarted. Is there a way to get it to stay on? As soon as the truck is placed in Park, the indicators go away and you have to toggle it back on once placed back in Drive.

Yes it resets when you stops/start or shift out of drive. Never looked in to if it can be defaulted to on.

There is actually a software update for the older 2011's that will allow the gear indicator to stay on.
