Default Vehicle Security System Ford Perimeter Plus

I have a 2014 FX4 with remote start, but wanted to add a shock sensor. After hours searching the forum (I'm clearly no expert) I ordered what I think will work as a plug and play add for me.

I ordered Part No: DL3Z-19A361-A from a dealer through Amazon.

Once I get it installed and working I will report back in case someone else just wants to add the shock sensor.

Has anyone else ONLY added this module?

Thanks!

Completed the install this weekend following the instructions found at http://www.fordservicecontent.com/fo...10_18_2013.pdf

Install was easy - Side panel removes easily and the cover over the instrument panel pulls straight off (I removed the instrument panel first, but I'm not sure you need to).

Seems to work OK for "impact", but I was hoping for "motion" activation (when I smack the window it goes off, but if I bounce on the running boards it does not.

The Ford LED I bought isn't very bright at all and can't really be seen flashing during the day and barely at night. I may replace it with a brighter one at some point.

I decided to mount my LED high on the panel so it could be seen from the side door and the front although the LED is not very bright.

The LED housing protrudes about 1/2" or so through the panel, which doesn't allow the panel to slide back in without modifying the part it slides into.

I cut a channel for the LED housing to slide through as the panel is snapped back into place. I also routed the cable through this opening.

Here is the VSS tie wrapped A/C duct located behind the LH IP side finish panel,

Tgibe,
Tell me about that cell phone mount.
Is that something you bought?
I'm looking for a way to mount the control head for my Ham radio in my 2013, and I don't want to drill any holes if possible.

PM if you don't want to clog this thread.

If you strap the VSS to the bottom metal support bracket, the one holding the e-brake, instead of the air duct, it will go off when you bounce up and down on the running boards. I think the air buct absorbs some of the shock.

Here is whee I put mine.

Happy to share the mount info. It is a ProClip model (I have bought for many vehicles and different phones over the years). They have many holders and accessories that you could use for a Ham head unit.

This is the link for the mount. Clips on to the back and front. Also has 3m type tape to keep it from sliding, but honestly I don't use the tape as it holds tight enough for me.

Here is a link to the holder - easy in and out for the phone. I use a slim tech21 case on my phone (iPhone6+) and it works perfect. And no drilling.

I bought this extension so the phone is just a little bit lower. It does block the air vent a little in this config, but It doesn't bother me.

I like that and will move it this weekend when I have some light to work in. Thanks for sharing!

How is it with impact to the bed/rear of the truck? I've got mine on the duct and it doesn't register anything from back there. Although I'm not sure, I may actually prefer that.
