Default USB cables

I just ordered a cable for this mod.
I buy all my cables from www.monoprice.com . I ordered a mini USB male to USB male cable and male to male adaptor for less than $10.

This website is very popular with home theater fans.I've ordered various products and have always happy with them.

Edit : I ordered a female to female adaptor..

I hope you mean female to female adapter. I made this mistake (not thinking) and bought a male to male adapter and the USB drive that you use will be male so you need to be plugging it into a female adapter.

The m/m mini-b 5-pin that I have now was very difficult to find. If you know where I can get one less than 6'long, please let me know. Again, I need mini-b male on each end.

Thanks.

I just looked and i do have the mini USB connector under the dash. Anyone know if I will be able to use this?
There seems to be a lot of variables involved. My 2011 Lariat w/o Nav is Sync Gen1 - V3.2.2 USB2 does not show up in 'Source' choices if you scroll through. If you use the verbal commands "USB2" is recognized and treated exactly like USB except on the other port. Since it appears that I will rarely if ever, use the front panel port for anything - perhaps for powering or recharging a device (and USB# wouldn't matter), I moved the front panel connector cable from the left (USB) port to the right (USB2) port and plugged my memory stick cable into the left port. Now I don't have to mess with USB2 at all and can scroll through the sources to my music.

NOTE** The cable to the front panel and the left port connector are 'keyed' to fit. You must use a fingernail file, pocket knife, etc., to shave off the corner of the connector on the cable so it will plug into either port.
