Upr catch can install issues
Went out in the blizzard because its 24* which is warm for this area and the past few weeks of winter. The bottom of the can hits the sensor in the pic and I also worry that putting a bolt and nut where it says to will make it contact the fan. I reached under and it feels as there is zero clearance to mount a bolt so the fan won't make contact when it spins. What in the world am I doing wrong? I can't believe I've had to ask this, but I need help! Clutches and brakes and suspension work are easy to me, but this remedial job has me stumped. I really don't want to install it and have the fan blade clearance itself on the bolt head!

That should work. You might want to have someone rev the engine or powerbrake it just a little to make sure you have enough clearance around everything.

I didn't even know that there are catch cans needed/available for the EcoBoost; neither did I know that the engines are prone to excessive blow-by. I'll guess I will take a look inside my air intake tube. If there is oil in there I will go to my dealer first as that shouldn't be normal and covered under warranty.
I remember having one on my 01 Dodge Cummins, t had to be emptied occasionally.

Good luck with that! With the PCV system in most modern day vehicles, the pcv is routed back to the intake to burn out. Its not like the old days.

They'll tell you it's normal and send you on your way. Well, it may be "normal" for the EB but that doesn't mean it's right. I installed dual cans on my truck, it's unbelievable how much they remove.

To be decided. I mean 15' of hose? Drilling an extra hole in the intake piping? What if the check valves fail? I'll just keep it simple for now. Two cans, no check valves, no extra holes. I do wish my driver side can had more capacity but I'm sure I can fix that fairly cheap.
