Hello all! I have a 2013 F-150 King Ranch that I recently purchased. It looks like from what I can find that the Sync version has never been updated. It has CCPU version 4.29.12285 installed currently and when I log into the ford owners site it says I have an update to 3.3 available. Id like to jump to the latest update for Ford Sync. Is there any easy path to do that? Ive read all kinds of horror stories of people losing their navigation along the way. Is it best to just pay the dealer?

Also, has anyone ever purchased one of the SD card map updates from Amazon? My current map version is A4 and the navigation application version is 3.34.4. They have them for $50 for the A10 version and Im tempted to do that rather than pay the $150 from the dealer.

Basically my goal is to get everything up to date in the easiest fashion possible. Thanks for all the help!

 

Make sure you get an SD card for a F150, it will work faster. That should be plug and play.

Follow the instructions for the Sync update from the website. It should work.
