Default Turn signals?

I have a 2009 F-150 Lariat SCReW. The other day while driving home after work, I noticed when I turned on my left turn signal that it flashed fast instead of slow. So I thought I had a turn signal light out. So I decided to stop on the way to get turn signal lights front and rear. I got home and changed the rear turn signal first. This didn't fix the problem, so i went to the front and changed the blinker bulb on the front and still didn't fix the fast flash. I tried the right side it worked fine, so i tried the 4-way flashers and all turn signals flashed at a normal pace. So I'm thinking maybe a fuse or a selinoid. All the fuses looked fine, yes I even switched them. So i think it has something to do with the turn signal stalk. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help or opinions on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

It is probably just the flasher module, usually located in the fuse block, but I think Ford may have moved it behind the kick-panel beneath the steering wheel.

Sideview mirror flashers? Are those bulbs working?

I think if you have a brake light out on thr rear it will do the same on the side that blinks fast

I'm sure you checked, but I'm just going to be Mr Obvious and ask if both bulbs in the left rear light were working?

The only thing on the kick panel is a speaker that plays the blinker noise. The blinker is controlled by the BCM, all electronic.

Yes, the mirror flashers flash normal when on 4-ways but the left side flashers faster when left turn signal is applied.

Usually a fast flash is due to a higher than normal current flow, as in a possible short.
I'd start by checking your trailer connections (both 4-flat and 7-round if you have them).
(edit) I found a picture of the 7-pin connector and noticed that the left flasher is next to the ground pin

Good luck.

I'm not sure if Ford actually programmed that. Fast flash means a bad bulb. a short in the trailer connector shouldn't make it blink fast. because it would when ever you have a trailer connected.

Have you replaced any bulbs with LED? are both the upper and lower bulbs in the rear light flashing. are they the same brightness? I know SAABs will throw light errors if the contact on the rear bulbs are dirty.

Thank-you everyone for the input and help. iRidium gets the nod. I'm was going to make an excuse for being tired but we will chalk this up to stupidity. I didn't check both lights on left side. One was blinking the other not. I changed the bad one and voila! LOL!!
