Default Turbo Question

I have a 2013 f150 Ecoboost 3.5L V6. On sudden and heavy acceleration as in passing a vehicle, I get a whirring type noise (as in a whirring revolution). I do not have it at any other time. Could this be a turbo issue? thanks

Could be an exhaust manifold leak. Very common. My '13 and '15 both have this issue. Ford can't make proper exhaust manifolds since 2004.

Even before that they were known to crack and leak. I hear quite a few 10th gens with leaky exhaust manifolds
