I have a 2010 F150 XLT. I cut the truck off got out and returned 20 minutes later and to find the truck to not start. Reading in the manual it seened the securilock system may have something to do with it. I tried both keys, reattaching the battery cable, being away from it for a couple hours and nothing. I have not done any modifications on the truck. I am guessing it will have to go to the dealer. I have seen a couple other posts on the subject but thought I would mention my situation for what its worth.

My wife called from home to tell me that our '09 F150 won't start. She initially tried with the remote start, than with each of the two keys. when using a key lights and dash would power up but it would not attempt to turn over and a symbol of a car facing her and lock would appear. What do those symbols mean? Is it indicating that the vehicle is attempting to start with a key without the chip inside?
The truck got a viper, I believe, starter put in it about two months ago by a reputable installer. It has worked great from day one. Any help before I go home tonight would be appreciated.

I have a 2009 f150. My husband is the driver. He moved it earlier today, I get in it to run an errand and it won't start and the anti theft red light is continually blinking. We only have one key for it and no lock system. I've tried moving the steering wheel. Turning the key to the on then off position 3 times slowly, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, taking the truck out of park and into reverse, etc. Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It is nuts! The same thing happened to me. Ran several checks but the one that solved the issue was tilting the steering wheel up and down a few times.
Something similar happened to me and I do not have remote start. This is what happened to me, I went to start my truck and nothing......the antitheft/security light was blinking rapidly which the manual states it has a problem and to try the other coded key, I did not have the other key with me so I tried everything else; took it out of Park and put it back in, locked and unlocked the doors with remote and keyless entry still nothing. Tried all of this several times and was ready to give up when I thought, why not tilt the wheel up and down just to try something else and bam it's all good and the truck started. Just a glitch????? Dealer stated he had never heard of this issue.

I had the exact issue with mine (2009 F-150 xlt trim) i had just bought. Security light came on and nothing i did can get it to work, called a locksmith to reprogram the keys but wouldn't let him do it. He can see that there was 3 keys registered to the vehicle. Now I knew it was an electrical issue, I first looked for added components and found a remote starter was installed along with a bypass PATS bypass module made by idatalink model ADS-TB(16) to be exact, i simply disconnected it and tried it with the key, low and behold it fired right up. hasn't given me any issues since, seems the module went faulty after i disconnected and reconnected the trucks battery. Thought i'd share, may help someone down the line. From my experience, when i get any electrical issues a lot of times i look for modifications and is often the source of the problem as this was the case for me.
