Truck stolen

F150s are we'll known to be easy to punch the lock cylinder out with a screw driver and open the door by playing with the linkage. Easy enough a 5 yr old can do it. This is why there was no glass.
Ford hasn't bothered to secure this easy way in among lots of other common problems that extend back at least a generation or two. But we have air cooled seats.

Dude, you deserve to have your truck stolen then. Your an easy target for thieves and its no wonder they came back and were pleasantly surprised to find that YOU left the key for them this time to finish the job.
If I was an agent from your Insurance Co., you would get nothing!

That's what's we're thinking, I stupidly left the key in the console after the money was taken thinking they were kids and wouldn't be interested in stealing a car, we were making sure vehicles were locked every evening I don't have the luxury if a large enough garage ;( moving end of august though and new place will be set up with cameras and better auto lighting

So, you are saying the same truck had $300 in the center console stolen a few weeks prior to the theft of the truck? Dude, you deserve to have your truck stolen then. Also have questioned insurance company about the key in the console and they have told me it's a non issue, we also pay real money for insurance in Ontario canada so when there is an issue people expect to be taken care of, I've never had anything stolen but claims for collision are a dream to deal with, also I'm with State Farm

No, these trucks are not easy to steal. Almost every newer model vehicle comes with a transponder key. Basically means car can't start or be driven without the key that is programmed to that car. Only way for cars with transponder keys to be stolen is to be towed away.
I agree with the other posters. Leaving a key in your car, that can only be stolen with the key is a terrible idea.

Those 90's Chevy's were damn good trucks. My buddy still has his ' 97 GMC with the 350. It has almost 300K on the engine. Tranny has been rebuilt, but that was because the dumas drove it through a pond bed. Almost made it through too, but then decided to try and back his way out which was not a good idea. Water/mud was up to the bottom of the windows. Took a big dually 4wd John Deere to get it out. We always joked with him that Chevy should have used him in one of their commercials. He was definitely above average hard on vehicles. Anyway, good luck and hope it turns out good for you. You'd probably be better off if they don't find it and just use the money on a new '14.
