Ok. My question is....

It's 2014, do we really need a compass in a truck?

I can honestly say I've never had to rely on a compass while driving.

mhm, yeah... if you kind of know where you're going, but not 100% sure, in a city you dont know all that well, it helps to know if you're going North, NW or NE, or in the exact opposite direction you're supposed to go! Sometimes the Map screeen is useless because if you're going far enough, you have to zoom out to see both your current position and destination, and you don't see enough details anymore...

Not everyone has a "built-in" compass in their brain. My dad has, I don't.

and to answer the orignal question... my 2013 Lariat with MFT has no compass display in the small screen, only on the main one. The page after trans temp is blank.

Ya I got the answers. I didnt really care to have the compass in the gauge display, but I like change I guess. So it would have been cool for a minute. The compass on the fx4 without a touch screen is on the center stack information display. Its just the directional letters. So all of us who have that blank page after the trans temp......well we are stuck with that lol. But I did get some other things updated while I was at Ford today.

I checked again yesterday, I actually have another page after the trans temp. Something about 2-speed 4x4 or something... must have to do with the 4A mode on the Lariat, although it really didnt show much besides a picture of the 4 wheels and "drive shafts"... Haven't checked the manual yet to confirm

I would like a compass as I actually drive up logging roads and whatnot. But I also use a garmin montana 500. In the spare screen I think is supposed to be front camera app for raptor.

I also have the second, "3d" compass.

I was messing around in sync and I found a area to 'install apps' and asks to insert a USB drive with the app files for install.

No idea what 'apps' it's for though.
