Default Trim on fenders of FX4...

I went to take the black trim piece off the fenders of my 2010 FX4 and realized that there are holes all the way through to the outside of the fender. Why they installed these that way is beyond me...I figured they would be installed similar to the way the aftermarket ones are which use mounting from the underside of the fender. Has anyone used the Bushwacker Pocket Style flares with the FX4' s? I assume they cover these holes up right?

Thanks!

Here are a couple shots of the fenders after I removed my flares.

I installed Bushwacker Extend-a fender flares on mine and really like how they blend in with the truck's lines.

That looks really good....I am leaning towards the pocket style myself but the ones you have are much better than stock. Did those come painted or did you do that yourself?

I had to have them painted. These offer 1.75" of additional coverage over the stock flares. The Pocket flares offer either 1.5" or 2" of coverage over the stock flares.

Here is a picture of one before it was painted. They are actually bigger than they look with a casual glance.

It looks awesome! Were they pretty simple to install? I have a guy here I work with that custom paints so I would have no problem getting that done.

I liked the extend a fenders on your truck so much I just purchased some. I'm starting to notice small rock chips already so hopefully these prevent that from occurring a little.

Well I received my Extend A Fenders today..I test fitted them and wow they look bigger than 1.75". I think once they are painted and installed they will come to life. My tires did stick out about 2 inches and they are pretty much covered by these flares so goodbye rock chips!
