Default Tricks on battling winter gas

What type of tricks do you have to fight winter gas killing your MPGs? I know the turbos and motor love the cold air but with winter gas it kills the benefit of that cold air getting crammed into the motor. I'm trying to stay away from the gas stations with the junk and high ethanol gas to try to keep my mpgs up so that's my only trick right now.

Thanks and I've seen that and it looks like they are more race gas than regular at gas station.

I try sticking with BP gas especially in the winter. All stations by me (in Chicago) have 10% ethanol. I find my mpg's and a little higher using their gas compared to some of the off brands during the winter.

An octane booster can bring the mileage back but a good octane booster is expensive

Thanks, my buddy told me about Liquid Performance ethanol equalizer and it boosts octane but I haven't found it yet. If I'm putting in a additive would it be better to just get the higher grade gas? It's about 8 bucks fr the Liquid performance additive but to go to 93 sunoco, BP or Shell it's about 12 bucks more so the difference is very small. With going to the 93 I can run the SCT 93 tune that would get me a few more ponies so I guess I'll have to do some trial and error. Another thing that I realized isn't helping me is I let the truck warm up for 5-10 minutes depending on how cold it is outside cause of my 1 yr old daughter.

Looking at the list of stations in my area, anything selling Ethanol free only has this in premium fuel.

Does it matter if I put this (Super sans Ethanol) in my '11 5.0 and does the extra $ see its way back into my pocket at all for city driving?

I Used to do premium in my Odyssey which had VTEC and would change the timing of the valves for HP gains and that made my long road trips through the mountains with a loaded van worth it.

I don't think the 5.0 has this tech in it... is there any point of using super?

I think I found the way to get my mileage back but I'll have to wait and see how it works. I was on the 5 Star tuning site and saw they have an eco tune so it doesn't bring the turbos on right away. I took it for a spin and wow what a difference you tap the gas and no power but if you give it more then you get the power back. They say cause of bringing the turbos in later it's almost like the 3.7 for the city mileage. I also got the 93 towing tune so I'll have to try that too see how the power and MPGs are.
