Tremor - First Roadtrip - Long Read (sorta)
I haven't seen too many posts on the Tremor for any kind of results so I thought I would share, I also expect to have some more results from a towing road trip coming up soon. In case it isn't known the Tremor of course has the eco and is matched with 4.10 gears. I traded in my 2012 screw with a 5.0 for this truck because I liked it and it suited my needs, gas mileage wasn't a factor I looked at too closely as it wasn't overly important in my decision, based on the comments I have read here the eco hasn't lived up to its rated MPG typically, mine has been close but I have never been able to test thoroughly and these road trip results are a little skewed because of the load I carried but seemed consistent The performance overall is like most have said with the pulling power felt. My lifetime average before road trip was 18.2, it didn't go up or down for the trip either way. I filled up and reset the odometer and off I went, (about 2-3 miles before getting on hwy) from San Diego, across the grapevine to just south of Stockton, 452 miles total and I averaged 19.2mpg. I spent three days house hunting which involved a lot of idling in the record setting heat the central valley had as well as slow rolling around neighborhoods, city driving, etc. I didn't look at the mileage again until I got home and my average dropped to 18.5 with a total of 1170 miles logged. The Tremor sticker is listed from 16 to 22 with 18 combined. I( was carrying a load somewhere between 350 to 500 pounds (guestimate). Overall I thought this was pretty good considering the grade change at the vine, the truck never dropped out of 6th while RPMs stayed right at the 21/22hun range. As mentioned it didn't peak on the 22 but I have seen close to it when resetting on the hwy. One additional note is the exhaust tip, it has always been black but I always get it washed before too many miles, it is HEAVY coated, while I won't quit my current job and start an auto repair business, there is no doubt to me the tune for my truck is way too rich, even for a stock tune.

x2 on good write up but even a 3.73 5.0 cant stick to a rcsb eco w/4.10 gearing

I have averaged 17 mpg overall 9500 miles in my Tremor, mostly hilly highway driving with 22" wheels. Highest I ever got was 23.5 mpg when I had the stock 20" wheels.

Boost :)
The black soot isn't so much about how rich it is running as it is just a byproduct and side effect of having a direct injection engine. Go look at any direct injected vehicle and you will see the exact same thing.
Both my previous EB and current one have been tuned and they have just as much black soot around the tailpipe as they did after the tune as they did before.

for me the Tremor with the eco is "snappier" than the screw 5.0, it seems like the gears make up a lot of that seat of the pants feel IMO, weight difference also I imagine.
@ TJPlatimum- thanks for the comments, this is my first direct injection vehicle, I'm old school and soot means fuel, sure seems like it could be tuned to run cleaner someway.
