tremor arrival

Upgrade the turbos and fuel and 10s are a reality. The stock block is very stout on these motors. Sorry but a 5.0 or 6.2 would be a nice daily driver but is not a match for the current ecoboost.

the 6.2L naturally aspirated in that truck would be killer. I'd consider trading my 5.0 for it.
However for better or worse Ford is pushing the Ecoboost above all others. Probably for CAFE reasons.
Speaking of which, I'd be curious to know if this Ecoboost gets better window sticker mileage in this Regular Cab configuration versus the much heavier Super Cab configuration.
It's about a 500 pound difference in weight if you were wondering.

It's not a lightning and it's not a svt. Dollar for dollar the ecoboost is a faster truck. Show me a bolt on 5.0 or 6.2 f150 in the 12s. The tremor should run mid to low 12s with a tune and bolt-ons. Add a race tune, meth, and intercooler and it will run 11s down the 1/4 mile with a good 60'.

Forced induction V8 is going to be the only way to go with these trucks. 90% of the people who buy Ecoboosts now have no idea about the power potential, they just want the extra MPG the dealer told them it would get.

Why are people so hung up on sound....who cares...if the truck goes fast I personally do not care what it sounds like doing it. I would rather hear the whine of a turbo as opposed to the sound of exhaust.

My guess is no because of the 4.10 gears.

It's what it feels like, and drives like 95% of the time I use it. I too am a huge fan of the 3.5 EcoBoost and Ford trucks in general, I have rented and test driven many new EcoBoost equipped trucks. While I liked it from a functional stand point, each one absolutely put me to sleep on the driving experience. It was as quiet as a Lexus each time I drove one.
Some guys like that, some guys don't. If I'm specifically buying the performance model of a truck I want to hear a nice throaty exhaust burble.
While I don't have any facts In front of me as they don't make a stock 5.0 or 6.2 V8 F-150 with the 4.10 axle ratio, but I would put money on it even the lowly 5.0 could hold the same configuration EcoBoost Tremor off through the 1/4 mile (since that is what so important to you)
There was a thread here, about the FX4 with the optional 4.10 & 3.5 EB (IIRC is the only way you can get 3.5 w/ 4.10's prior to MY 2014) was slower than an EB with 3.73 or 3.55 because the ratio is so short through 1st gear it doesn't allow the turbo 's to spool. I've never driven the combo so I can't speak on what the 3.5/4.10 combo feels like.
That said, 4.10's and the 5.0 would be perfectly matched, 6.2 even better (I bet it wouldn't even hook up through 1st & 2nd) lastly I don't see why you are so hung up with the turbo sound? I love forced induction too, I owned a heavily modified and tuned '05 Cummins diesel ram for a number of years, just sold my turbo 2013 Subaru WRX.
Call me crazy but I love the sound of my F-150 with a stock Raptor exhuast minus the resonator best. I don't have to be doing a 1/4 mile or going WOT, puts a huge smile just rumbling down the road. I'm also not adverse to going forward or changing technology. As soon as Tesla brings out their fully electric truck, I will be first in line I promise.

It's a narrow market already. It's a RCSB V6. Putting an FI V8 would only widen the market, because it would be seen more as a Lightning. The Lightning wasn't cheap when it came out, yet it did pretty well.
