Default Transmission Shudder

I have a 2011 Ecoboost F-150 and right before I come to a complete stop I get a shudder from the drivetrain that almost feels like a torque converter shudder. The truck feels like it wants to keep going and sometimes this feeling is worse than at other times.

I brought it to the dealer yesterday and they did a reflash of the transmission and also did an update which they said should fix the problem but the shudder is still present. Is anyone else having this issue?

Have you brought it in to the dealership yet? The service manager that rode with me said that it felt like an excess buildup of pressure that is causing the torque converter to stay engaged causing a torque converter shudder. But the fix they did did not fix the problem.

Sounds like a different problem than the shudder that's been discussed when you start from a dead stop (seems to be more prevalent in the longest wheel base with the split drive shaft). I would encourage you to keep taking it in so Ford has record of the issue....the more people that report the problem, the more attention Ford will give it and address it for new vehicles coming off the line.

I have isolated it to the transmission/torque converter. If you speed up slow enough to stay in first gear and slow down it doesn't shudder when stopping. If you slow down from a faster speed and drop it in neutral while slowing still no shudder. The only time it happens is when the truck has to downshift to first gear from a higher gear.

Exact same here too...11 screw EB Lariat. Haven't had it checked out, but almost glad it's not just my imagination. Annoying for sure. I'd be real curious to hear if anyone gets a real diagnosis.

Mine does the same, it's not all the time though. I thought it was the brakes. Hmmm. Also I have the 5.0 Crew Cab 4x4
