Default Transmission Reprogrammed

So has anyone else had their transmission reprogrammed lately and it feel way too tame. I have a 2012 FX4 5.0 and before when you would get on the gas a little it would shift into 2nd and really go. Now it likes to stay in 3rd when you get on it a little bit and throw you in your seat. Im not really complaining, just curious if thats what it did for everyone else.

nope I have been thinking of getting a tuner to reprogram everything though they are a strange beast as I am learning.

Its not bad, it does seem to shift smoother. The big thing is you have to give it more gas before it will down shift and take off.

Yea definitely different then anything else I have driven. Also weird with the down shifting in tow/haul mode. It seems as though I need to lightly hold the brakes to get it to down shift to hold the load back. It's kind of weird if I hit the brakes hard it doesn't down shift or anything like that. I wish it would but it wont.

It should down shift in tow/haul if you just keep your foot off of the brake. At least that's what it did for me when I have towed.

It didn't seem to but maybe, once it did down shift id let off the brake and it would hold the gear it down shifted to. Ill have to try just letting it coast next time.

I had my 2011 ECO reprogrammed a few weeks ago and I notice a difference too. The truck still goes like hell but you really need to floor it. Mine seems like they made the turbos less active and the wastegates open sooner. My gas mileage has gone up 1 mpg which I think shows the turbos are less active.

I had my 2011 5.0 reprogramed a couple months ago and experienced much of what you have mentioned. Very unresponsive, I seem to get worse mileage now. Have to give it a ton of throttle to get it moving & it does shift smoother. I was advised by dealer it had to "learn" my driving techniques for a few weeks/months and would change slightly. I am unsure of actual mileage since reprogram. Wondering if I need to take it back to have reflashed.

I dont think my MPG has changed at all since they reprogrammed it. I thought about having them reflash it, but honestly it is kinda nice that it doesnt take of like a bat out of hell every time I give it some gas. I will give it a couple more months and see what I think then.
