Transmission Jerking when cold
I bought a new 2011 which now has close to 600 miles on it. Since I bought it with the engine and transmission cold (not wintertime cold) whenever it shifts from 2nd to third, Occasionally 1st to 2nd the trans will jerk when it changes gear. After the engine and trans warm up the problem goes away. Any clue as to why its doing this? I have an appointment to take it in for service next week. Hope its nothing serious. I really don't have much trust in the service department at the dealership where I bought it.
Update
It did have frost on the windshield this morning so I started it and let it run maybe 10 Minutes and when I took off it shifted just fine. Any clue?

My '11 5.0 SCREW XLT does the same thing. I always let it rest for a few minutes after i start it. I let the RPM drop down to a normal idle before putting it in gear. Then as i drive off and it shifts into 2nd, it will jump, or seem like it kicks hard into gear. Then the same sometimes to 3rd. Only seems to do it when the truck is cold.
I find my transmission doesn't like me driving it like an old man, I only experience the jolts when I'm going extremely light on the gas. If I drive without regard for fuel economy I don't notice any jolting or other problems with the transmission.
I also find my transmission doesn't like damp weather - this seems to exasperate the situation.

I now have 2,500 miles on my truck and was in the area of my dealer today and had some time to waste so I called my dealer and they said to bring it in. Long story short they didn't find any codes so they reflashed the computer. Their transmission guy told me their trans are what they call "Smart Shift". In other words the trans adapts to the way you drive the vehicle. Well the reflash did not work. I had my fingers crossed this morning as I left home and sure as it shifted from 2nd to 3rd there was the same jerk......
Took my truck to the garage and left it overnight. The guy that worked on it said it was one quart low on transmission fluid and was actually jumping out of gear. It did ok while driving it home but the engine and trans was warm so I have no idea if it's fixed or not. One thing I did notice was on the info screen where it shows gas mileage and etc it showed what gear the truck was in while driving. It never had that info on the screen before and didn't even know it was suppose to be there.
That means they either reflashed your PCM to newer software or you had turned it off yourself accidentally when you first got it. All trucks built after a certain date show the gears and which one you are in.

Is there an option for that? To turn it OFF/ON? I have never found it if there is.
