On Monday I took my truck to get my free oil change and my friend there told me there was a update flash he could run if I liked. So I did and my truck runs about 250 rpm lower know at any fix speed (cruise control). Lower rpm = higher mpg

Were you in a different gear when comparing speed & rpm? Possibly the flash changed the shift points?

Don't know what else it could have done. Assuming the torque converter was locked, gears are gears and won't be changed electronically.
