Trailer Towing Help Needed
A good tuner will help but I can not say it will solve the problem. I know my 5.4 can hold gears much longer on hills after tuning. Might be something to check in to

Thanks for the replys. Looks like I should leave it in regular mode when driving on flat stretches and return to "trailer/haul" mode in the hills/mountains. I didn't try the regular mode on the way down in fear of damaging the tranny, but from what you guys are saying this should be ok on the flat. I will talk to a local vendor about a different program for the computer.
Many thanks

The main reason I HATE these computer controlled auto trannys is the hunting they do pulling a load. I think Ford should offer stick shifts again for 150 buyers. I know I'd trade my 2010 in for one.
As far as taking the tranny out of "Tow Haul" mode while driving, I've tried that and mine will NOT switch in or out of the mode it's in until I come to almost a complete stop first. Now I suppose that's broke too?
BRING BACK STICK SHIFT!

Thanks again everyone. What a great forum. Very nice to hear from a fellow Holland Landinger "BLU4TJW".
OK my plan is to do nothing at this time. When I head home I will try regular mode on the flat and see how it works out. Obviously new gearing would help/solve the issue, but that is a very expensive fix for an annoying problem.
