Default Trailer break harness and controller questions

Ok guys I'm in the middle of trying to get my 2013 f150 to have the factory trailer break controller and 7 pin connector set up. My truck came with the plug for the factory trailer brake controller so I had the computer flashed today to turn it on at the deal ship. Next problem is getting it all back to the trailer plug.
My truck came with the plug on the right and needs to be like the plug on the left
I found this write up that is old on http://www.f150online.com/forums/ele...rmation-2.html
Basically what I'm seeing is you use a 4 to 7 pin plug adaparter like this

The blue and black are for the trailer brake controller. In this article they are saying splice the organ get and blue wire on your harness like this

And run it back to the blue and black wires and everything should be good to go. Has anyone done this before???

I've done exactly this a few weeks ago. If you're using the factory TBC you can splice in all your wires at the plug that you have photos of.

Edit: behind the plug with only 4 wires coming out you should have a bunch of wires above the spare tire.

Including your reverse lights (brown with grey wire I believe), trailer charge (orange) and your TBC (blue). If you buy the 4pin to 7pin kit in the photo you posted like I did, it's pretty simple.

After you plug the 4 pin in all you need to do is splice your black wire coming from the plug to the orange wire in your harness above your spare for trailer charge. Next is blue to blue for your TBC. Purple is reverse lights and goes to the brown with grey stripe. White is obviously ground, I put it right beside my factory ground. I used butt connectors and protected with heat shrink and electrical tape and the kit I used came with loom. Obviously the colour scheme depends on which kit you buy but I used the exact one you posted.

Any questions?
