Trailer brake controller and gas mileage

Trailer brake controller and gas mileage
I can't seen to find any posts with a similar issue, but...
I recently purchased a 27' travel trailer (GVW 7,100)
Last week I had the Ford Dealership install a trailer brake controller in my 2013 SCrew 4x4 5.0. Since then I have lost about 2 mpg driving my regular route to and from work (no trailer attached) and there seems to be a delay in up-shifting as I drive. Tow\Haul mode is not activated.
Anyone know if flashing the computer makes any changes other than activating the controller?
I expected to see worse gas mileage once I actually start pulling a trailer, but not before!
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks from a newbie!

It's not really a re-flash, they simply hook it up to their IDs software, and select 'Enable' on the trailer brake controller.
They would have reset the system after they are done, so the computer in your truck should simply have to re-learn things. Should straighten out.

I wonder if they also flashed the truck with the latest updates, which could change transmission shift strategy or engine trim? At best this would reset the "learning" feature of the transmission which could take a little while to get back to where you were used to it.

I know at my Dealership anytime they do anything electrical it comes back having to relearn everything, in most cases they unhook the battery so they do not blow anything up.

Also make sure the trailer sway control is turned off, I believe it is under the truck in the option menu on the Gauge Screen.
