Truck looks sweet. Are you sure you won't miss the heated leather and Dual zone climate from your Lariat though?

Nice looking truck but I couldn't live without leather.

What do you mean "the 5.4 is no match for the ECO Boost"?

All I ever seem to read on the forum here is about problems people are having with the ECO Boost.

I have the 5.4 and she does everything I ask and everything I pull effortlessly and no issues at all.

I am going to have to agree on this here, regarding the performance. I have no opinion about the reliability. I have test driven multiple ECO Boost trucks, with multiple configurations and rear ends. And my socks were not blown off. I drove from WIS to NY (800 miles) with my buddy after he purchased his brand new EB FX4 SC with the appearance package (very sharp truck, MFT is awe-some). And the performance of the ECO was nice, just not overwhelming. I have a 2010 5.4L CC 6.5' bed with 34" AT tires, and a tune (Superchips, not even a custom tune). And I felt that the power on my truck was not that far off of the EB. Maybe it's just me.

Now, I will say that if I were to get a new truck, it would be the ECO Boost. Was talking to the local Ford dealer about rebates and what they had on the lot. The local ford dealer suggested the 5.0L, said it gets better gas mileage than the EB *according to their observations*. They also mentioned it had more HP than my 5.4L. Honestly, I could give a rat's ***** about HP, I prefer torque. My buddy who bought the truck said the 5.0L was nice, but the EB felt much faster. I will have to go and test drive and see how it compares, this discussion has peaked my interest.

Thank you everyone for the compliments.....really liking this truck thus far. Very reasonable question about missing the leather seats etc. and the honest answer is, I really got tired of keeping them oiled, seldom used the heated option, NEVER used the cooled one, and thus far, haven't missed it.

I said initially that the 5.4 in the lariat I had was no match for the new motor, let me clear that up. The 5.4 did all I asked it too, just sometimes I felt like it was working a lot harder to carry the weight it was asked to than it should have. It had plenty of "pep" and the 5.4s I have had......were damn good reliability-wise. But it seems, thus far to me, the eco boost is not working nearly as hard, especially getting off from a start.

The biggest thing I DON'T miss about the lariat, was spending hours detailing it, only to have that black paint look dusty in a matter of minutes.......

Hoping the 3.5 is as good to me as the 5.4 was, and hope to keep it a good while.

Take care all, I'm kind of a lurker here, but I love seeing everybody's pics etc so keep it up!

Hey, Paint what kind of deal did you get? How much off of the sticker price did they give you? Did they beat you up on your trade in? Not being nosey just seeing what kind of deals are out there. That is a great looking truck, I have my eye on a 2013 ruby red FX2 that I like a lot. I love that color.
