Default Traded the Platinum in...

And went to the other side. Had a good run with the F-150 but needed to cut some expenses right away (hence why I didn't wait for a 2015) and the Chevy was the next best option.

2014 Silverado LT Z71, 5.3 V8, 3.42 gears. Picked it up on Friday morning and put a level kit and 33" Toyo Open Country AT tires on it Friday afternoon. Got the windows tinted this afternoon.

Cut expenses? Yet trade in a high end 2012 F150 for a brand new Chevy truck and over $1000 in changes right off the bat?

How do you like it compared to the Ford? You have to change your little tag line after the picture too.

Congrats on the new truck. GM is in a battle with FIAT-ram and the incentives are really good.

I have always been a chevy guy until recently. The 2014 Chevys are starting to grow on me at first I hated the new body style. Nice to see the 3.42 rear end perhaps it will have a little more get up and go than my 2011 did with the ragged 3.23 rear end. I swear with the cruise set on the highway it sounded like it was going to blow the motor pulling my 33's on a slight incline. Love my ford, but I would probably give gm another go down the road. Congratulations on the new ride

You know, I've never been one of them brand loyalty kind of guys. I've always just gone with whatever I felt was a good fit for me. Obviously, this one is not near as nice on the interior as my Platinum, but it has it's own upsides. I got 18 mpg on my 27 mile trip to work today, even with the lift and tires. I never got that on the same trip in my F-150. It's a small sample size, but it's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on. Also, I never realized how much room the floor console shifter took up. The center console of the Chevy is massively deep, although I do miss resting my hand on the shift ****.

I've always been loyal to Ford when it comes to trucks. Cars... Not so much! I did sit in the new Silverado at the Chicago auto show, and I gotta say, it looked and felt pretty good.
