Default traded in my 10 king ranch for a 12 fx4 eco boost!!

I traded in my 2010 king ranch for a 2012 fx4 with the luxury fx4 package last Saturday and I really like my new truck it feels a lot better to drive then my 10.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance. I pretty much came back into town just to buy it then had to head back out to Wyoming. I haven't drove it much but I can't wait to see the difference in towing with this truck, i like that you don't have to rev it up so high to get it moving vs the 5.4

Here's a few things I want to do to it what do u guts think?

Livernois or 5 star 87 octane tune not sure which one yet.
Leveling kit with 295/60 nitro trail grappler tires on stock wheels.
And a push bar not sure which one yet.

Bold move. I'm currently struggling with pulling the trigger and selling my 10 Lariat for a 12-13 FX4 for the simple fact of the powerful motors but I'm not sure where that will end (ex. buying a 13 then wanting a 15 etc.). Not sure if I could have got rid of a KR for a FX4 tho unless I didn't have it from new, was your 10 bought new by you? A KR is a big nut to fork out especially new, did you take a loss? And if you traded in are you willing to give mileage/condition of your KR to help me gauge a realistic number if I wanted to take the easy route and trade rather then sell?

I bought my KR last October with 51k on it in really good condition. I loved my kr really really nice inside and out but it didn't have the power I wanted the miles were kinda high 56k on it, and another thing was having to maintance the seats all the time or they would look faded and the interior was tan which I didn't like. I owed 33,000 on my kr and they gave me 29,500 for it so they added 3500 bucks on top of the truck.

Congrats on the new truck!

I would've had a hard time going from the nice interior of a King Ranch to an FX4 to get a different motor and newer model year. But if that's what works best for your needs, that's all that matters. I knew when it came time for me to trade my King Ranch, it was either going to be a move straight across or higher. I decided to go up the ladder. Well, I can't really say it was going up the ladder, since all the same options could be added to the King Ranch or Platinum.

I tried selling it on the outside but people wouldn't give me much so I said **** it just trade it in lol I'm really gunna miss the kr really nice truck with the smell of the leather seats everytime I got in. To some people it might be a down grade but this truck is fully loaded and it has the cherry metallic paint which is something different.

Thanks for the info. My 10 Lariat only has 10K miles in great condition so maybe a trade will yield me 26-27K. I may have to investigate and just start leasing these things to have the most up to date model every 3 years.

Thanks man yea at first I was gunna go with a platinum a white one cuz they were almost Round the same price as my fx4 but honesty I don't need another luxury truck that I have to worry about keeping clean and taking so much care of it thats my opinion . There nice trucks not gunna lie but here not for me lol I'm only 22 years old mabe if I was older and took care of things better I would have kept my kr

As long as you dont start out upside down and have a 5 year note, you can trade every 3 years and at least break even on the trade, if not some decent equity

I noticed this right away with my test drives of a new EB '12 FX4.

I was surprised at the different 'feel' between my '09 XLT and a '12 FX4; and not just the motor, it was the [entire] ride and feel which was so much better. Driving back home in my XLT, was sort of a let-down after 30-40 minutes in the FX4...I can't wait!!
