Default Traded for a Chevy

So I tried out one one the new Silverados. I really really tried to like the truck. And it was starting to grow on me until I pulled with it. Needless to say, I'm now the proud owner of a new Ecoboost. Feels good to be back in a truck!

The title of your thread makes it seem like you purchased a Chevy.

Congrats on the Ford though. I have Blue Ovals in my blood and will never go to another manufacturer, barring any crazy circumstances.

I did purchase one. Kept it 6 weeks. Always had a Ford, thought I'd try something new. Never again!

Congrats on the purchase.

My F150 purchase began at a Chevrolet dealership too and it was a back to back test drive that put me in a Ford.

Haha. Got my 2012 F150 at a Toyota Store. I told the sales guy a used Ford is better than a new Toyota. Really a $44K Tundra with no leather??

True, plus the Toyota Tundra is one fugly truck with weird exterior proportions (especially from the side view) IMO.

{start sarcasm}

But why would you trade your Chevy? It was awarded North American Truck of the Year!?

Next year, I hear it will get Basket Weaving Yearly's Truck of the Year for 2015 and Doyle Cornbuckles County Fair Truck of the Year as well!

After all, Chevy is the longest lasting most dependable truck on the road according to Acme Horseless Carriage Weekly....and they know their stuff!

{end sarcasm}

Shoot, I didnt care about all that noise. Price was totally overriding brand loyalty. I needed a truck and I went to the Chevy dealer cause they had the cheapest prices in the paper. (I even admit "Ram" got a call - but they were not even in the ball park) Prior to actually going, I called them up and verified the trucks at that price did exist, they did so I was in the car. I was satisfied-ish with what I saw, decided to head home and sell the idea to the wife. On the way home, on a whim, I pulled into the Ford dealer talked to the salesman there seeing what they were offering to counter the guys down the street.. showed him what I had on paper and he told me right there they could not even come close (about $3500 off the mark) with a similarly equiped truck. (equiped about like an XLT with no extra options.) I asked to see said truck anyways... and there was really no comparison. The truck sold itself. That same salesman/dealer tried to screw me later in the buying process so I ended up going across town to the other dealer and ordering a Lariat.

I have to admit that even though I've only owned Ford and only really tested out a GMC(2500 turbo diesel) I have to say that I don't look for a brand when I shop. I look for a decent motor/tranny I like and the rest is just personal preference. I make the truck I want. I do however happen to find less "making" in a ford.
