traction control?
 
I have a 2012 f150 xl 2wd. The normal traction control shuts off when I hit the button and then when the truck decides it needs the advanced traction control kicks in. Is there any way to shut it off? I tried holding it for 5 and 10 seconds and no luck. I have been looking online and all I have fund is that you can pull the fuse, but that also disables the ABS so I'm not going to do that. So how can I shut it off when I want it off? I guess I could run a switch to the wire for advanced traction control any other ideas? Would a tuner turn it off?

Doesn't it shut down more when holding the button down? I don't know what it's supposed to look like on an XL screen. On mine it clearly goes into a different level when I do this. (enough to do donuts) But, only the Raptor has an OFF switch. Perhaps they have found a way with Forscan to shut it off, I've never looked.

When I start the engine traction control is automatically on. When I turn it off it stays off in my truck until I either turn it back on, or when the engine is turned off then back on again.

Holding the button down until advance trac is disabled is supposed to shutoff everything but that doesn't seem to be the case as when my truck starts into a four wheel drift I can feel the PCM pulling power from the motor. I guess stability control is still somewhat active.

Performed a quick search thru jdunk's spreadsheet but couldn't find anything relating to disabling thru forscan (yet)

It is supposed to shut it down....until you hit 35mph. So, most people refer to that as "still on". Some parts of traction control are fully disabled in 4L, but 4L brings up other special considerations, so it tends to be ignored in most discussions.

There was a thread about swapping in Raptor parts to try to get a standard F150 to have the full shut off. I don't know where it went, wasn't following it myself.

pretty sure the 35mph references the speed you have to be under in order for the button to actively disable TC
there is another chart over on forscan thread that shows rollover stability control cant be disabled. we just need to wait for jdunk to figure it out, then maybe four wheel drifts will be in our future

It's already been figured out I believe. Just run a button that disables the abs and other nannies at the fuse box. Someone even used the raptor off road button and something else to do it.

Nope. It gets enabled at 35, just like the chart says.

Thanks JD, I just glanced over that thread quickly but it seems to be geared more towards the 4WD trucks with all the talk of off road modes and 4WD switches.
Ill need to compare the wire diagram listed to mine.
I have a RWD with the traction control button at the top of the center stack.
Even if I get this traction control disabled we still have the stability control to contend with, when it engages it retards the throttle (obviously not connected to the ABS)
