Traction Control?
For starters, I have a '13 SCab XLT 5.0 4x4 with 3.55 ELDiff. I have owned the truck for just over a year now. On my way home from work I thought to myself that this is the first vehicle I've owned that I have never burned out in.... So, curiosity got the best of me and I turned off the traction control, stopped, and lit the tires (diff unlocked). As most of you know, the truck had no issue breaking traction. What I noticed is that as the truck shifted into 2nd (tires still spinning), the traction control kicked in any way, even though I had pushed the button to turn it off. Is this normal?
Yup. On pages 238 and 239 of your manual describes how it works. When you press the TC button momentarily, it disables your traction control up to 35mph, but the RSC (roll stability control), and the ESC (electronic stability control) are still engaged. If you press and hold the TC button for five seconds or more (while going under 35 mph), then it will disengage the RSC, ESC as well as the traction control. But, once you go over 35 mph the RSC and ESC will engage. Now remember that you have several TC systems at work. You have "Engine traction control", "two wheel spin" brake traction control, and "single wheel spin" traction control. When you press the button either momentarily or for five seconds, it disengages the engine and "two wheel" TC systems. Single wheel spin control is always engaged no matter what. It's a bit confusing. Under 35 mph, the TC is suppose to be off. Is that just the two wheel? Then when your speed hits over 35 mph, the stability systems engage, but the TC is still suppose to be off. So I guess that would mean just the two wheel?, because the one wheel is always on. Then once your speed drops below 35 mph, does the stability systems again dis-engage as long as the system is still switched off? Now I'm confusing myself. I better quit before I get you confused. Or did I already? Hope that helps some.

Yep. So if you turn it off go over 35, it comes back on and stays on. On,y way to disable it is to pull fuse or add toggle switch. It saved my butt a couple time on black ice but also almost wrecked me once in heavy wet snow when it cut power on me abruptly at about 40 mph and I almost took out a smart car...
