looks like i was wrong, there is a little receiver antenna and then it sends the signal to the BCM

Thankyou! The only reason i had to drop the glove box was to remount the new module and fwiw no programing was needed. I have a kenwood head unit in mine with a maestro unit and mft1 harness so i can actually see my sensors.

Is there a way i can add the year to the title of the thread so this pops up on global searches i think it could help a few people out especially as these trucks age

i am about to have to replace my tpms module because my key fobs stopped working and had ford diagnose it as my tpms sensor, what year of truck do you have? and there was no programming needed once the new part was plugged in?
