Default Tpms faulty?!?

Anyone experience their tpms sensor throw a fault code while only driving highway speeds?; comes and goes

Happened to me the other day. Did you have a phone charger plugged in? Look up toms fault in Google. Seems if you have a cheap charger , you can get a fault code.

Guy I work with has it happen to him every time he passes a certain spot on the interstate. RFI.

My 09 with 95K miles had one like that, as it would come on randomly. Finally, the TPMS fault came on and stayed on, so I went to a Firestone and they had a SnapOn handtool that talks to each TPMS sensor and sure enough one was dead. Replaced with a new OEM off of Ebay for like $25 and had them reprogram the sensors with that same tool and haven't seen a fault light since.


Long story short, you have one going bad- probably its battery. Might start looking for a replacement and have it onhand.

Mine has been doing the same for awhile now. Had my Ford tech buddy hook my truck up to ids. Bad battery in one of them. He said they're supposed to last 10 years, but you know some batteries don't last as long as advertised.
