I decided to take them off and give them to my brother who had just purchased a 13 5.0 Screw. Drove his stock 18's back up north and averaged around 18.6.

Today I went and bought a new set of 275/60/20 AT2's and mounted them on new platinum rims. The fit is great, no rubbing without a level. MPG are actually trending up after about 100 miles of running around today. Truck feels better and the tires don't seem to hold it back like before.

FYI for those of you that are thinking about the Extremes due to their looks, they will reduce your mpg and performance.

Don't blast me if you love your Extreme's (as I loved the look), I'm just trying to inform those who are trying to make a decision.
Did you have your speedo calibrated for both changes? I'm guessing the biggest difference here is weight. The 285/55/20s are a LT tire and the 275/60/20 are a P tire.

I'm thinking about running a 295/65/20 which is a 35x11.8 according to Toyo. I don't want the width of the 35x12.50 but want a little more height than the 295/60. any thoughts how this would fit on a 2.5" level?

My truck is calibrated to 275/55/20 as it is an ecoboost and the dealer told me that is all they can do.

The extremes just felt heavy. Hard to believe that it was noticeable, but it was.

I had the dealer calibrate my tires, the speedo is now off by less than 1km/h as per my gps. Not sure what my dealer could do differently.

But yes the extremes are heavy. But on the highway in summer at 65mph I still see around 18mpg (or 13l/100km). Winter is another story.

Edit: 3.73 gears.

Spun out and went in the ditch on the interstate the other day. I gave the truck to much gas and broke traction on the rear end. Hit the ditch had at least a foot of snow in it. quickly threw it in 4x4 and floored it, these tires dug into the snow and got me right back out I was truly amazed how well I got out (Im sure the semi drivers that watched me go in were too). My F150 only has a small lift to fit my 33s. Just wanted to share my experience with my tires.

- we pay all that extra $$ to satisfy the Govt with track control mandates - we need a refund - Glad you got it out. These tired are grippy - was in snow country last week & they got me out of some slick off road areas .

For snow and ice the Extremes were complete crap for me....
They came off with less than 10k on them.
Biggest mistake in tires I have ever made.

I wish u would stop talking crap every chance u get about the at2s borso. Did anybody think these tires were going to be awesome in ice and snow ? I mean are they even snow rated? The bfg a/t is probably the best a/t tire ever made but it's not even snow rated (I don't think). That said ppl like at2 for the deep good looking tread without the drawbacks of a full m/t tire. The price points on the at2 is good to. 50k warranty on the extreme tread at2 and p rated has 65k warranty that pretty good for the price and agressiveness. I myself can't decide on toyo mt or at2. Kids and wife would probably enjoy at2s as we'll. all this just my $.02

Actually, the bfg a/t is snow rated (severe snow) in most sizes but not all sizes. My experience has been positive with the bfgs in the ice and snow. What little snow we have had this year, so far the extreme toyos handled it well.

Wow a lot of opinions on the A/T 2's. I guess I must know how to drive in snow because I love my A/T 2's in snow. Living in Salt Lake City I get to drive in just about every condition known to man. If I drove only on ice I would not have these tires I would buy the softest winter driving tire I could find.

I run 275/65/20 A/T 2's. I wish the tire didn't weight 58 lbs but it is something I will take because of how the tire works and the longevity of the tread.
