Default towing report for those who do that thing

Just another data point.

Truck: 6.2L platinum 4x4 crew with max tow (3.73 rear)
Trailer: 7x14' enclosed tandem axle, around 6000lbs total
Distance: Dallas, TX to San Jose, CA and back (3400 miles)

With 6th locked out, 65mph, 10.6 mpg (1200 miles through TX/AZ/NM, going)
With 6th locked out, 75mph, 10.1 mpg (1200 miles through TX/AZ/NM, return)
With 6th locked out, 55mph, 10.8 mpg (1000 miles cross CA and back)

Very happy with the truck. In 5th doing 75 mph I was turning 2.5k rpm which had me in a nice power region. Not too much downshifting but only on the steepest grades (down to 4th).

I could have beat this with a diesel no doubt but I don't tow that often.

Nice. Gotta love the power the 6.2 delivers. That mileage is respectable and similar to my EB with a similar load.

Pretty good numbers for the 6.2L, especially with 6 locked out. I towed this weekend and got 10-11 MPG in my EB, about the same weight as you. Hopefully, it gets better after I break it in a little more.

Ford is really making a capable 1/2 ton. My enclosed is such a damn big sail that I wasn't unhappy with the mileage at all and I could hold speed. Damn CA and their 55 limit for trailers....

LOL Our travel trailer is a tear drop design, so that helps a little.
