In my opinion, I'd go open trailer. A standard open car hauler weighs around 3,000. Here's my truck towing my tractor last weekend. Are you getting more sag than this? This is pretty normal. This trailer has around 5k tongue weight and doesn't bottom out.

I made it! 600 miles towing a big *** heavy 24' enclosed trailer with a 4,000 car.

First impression? The truck did amazingly well. I have to say I had my doubt, but overall I was really impressed. The only time that I didn't feel that confident was when some semi's came hauling by me and caused some sway.

Some facts-
-averaged 10 mpg, going 65.

-Engine trans did great, and RPMs stayed around 2,000 - 2,200 most of the time. On a good size hill, it would jump down in gear and run at 4,000 rpms.

-The Active Suspension System and the WDH made all the difference in the truck.

I only towed enclosed trailers with my old Duramax before, and even when I put a 24' trailer on it, it didn't about the same. Mileage was down to around 9 / 10 and it would sway a little.

One upgrade I will do prior to doing this again is get "e" load range tires. I think this will help a good degree also. The stockers have too much cushion to them.

The mighty F150 did it, and am very happy with the results!
