Default Tow points on a car?

So long story short a friend of mine got his car stuck in some mud... generic nissan altima econobox, before i go tow him out, Where the hell will i attach the recovery gear to? No tow hooks or anything... Kinda new to towing CARS out of stuff... Used to trucks with handy dandy tow hooks.

Usually imports have tiedown/tow hooks or a hook somewhere. If not, you will have to wrap around something. Subframe, a-arm, rear axle, whatever.

No tow hooks we could find... Didn't really feel like crawling under a car in the pissing rai and mud, Ended up attaching it to the rear axle.

Not sure if it's like this on nissans, but my mazda 3 has a tow hook inside the rear hatch that I have to screw into a spot on the front bumper. That may be why you aren't able to find it.

Not sure grabbing by the axle is a good idea as it could pull it out of it's position... Depending how bad he was stuck.
Usually they have pockets in the frame that you need to use a chain with a "R" or "T" hook.

Here is what not to do.

I know I'm a little late to this, as you've probably already towed this car...but all Nissan's have a random square in the bumper like this one (pic). That is called the tow cap. Under it is a threaded hole. In the trunk (or glove box) there is a piece, usually with the jack, that looks like a large bolt with an eyelet on it. That screws into that hole in the bumper, and that is your tow point.
