Default Tow Mirror Marker Light

I'm wanting to add amber marker lights to the bottom outside of my tow mirrors. Partly because it would look nifty and partly so others know how wide I am. Has anyone had them apart to know if something like this would fit? They require a 3/4" hole.

I have been trying to figure out how to install the superduty tow mirrors just for this very reason. I haven't measured either kind, but just glancing at them, I think the F150 mirrors actually stick out farther than the superduty mirrors.

If you do find a way to get a marker light on them, please let us know & with pics.

There is a write up on removing the mirror glass. But the hard part is going to be running the wiring in a clean way to power the light.
Fyi super duty mirrors aren't going to fit at all.

Good to know, this seems to be the only thing I can find, should be enough though. I'll give updates when I have my truck again. The fiance has it right now, think a seal is busted on her Dodge Neon transmission.

What I don't understand is why ford did not put a running light on the f150 with tow mirrors? The mirrors are huge and definitely need a marker light.

I agree they need a marker light. I just came out of a 2000 super duty and these f150 mirrors stick out farther than the super duty mirrors do when they are not extended. I don't understand why they aren't designed to be collapsed further for when not towing. I really don't even have to extend then out very far when I hook up. Defeats the purpose of having extendable mirrors. But otherwise they work great and have a better view than my SD did.

I think I saw the 2013 F150 tow mirrors with side marker lights....looks like Super Duty....is this correct?

I'd like to add side marker lights that are on with running lights and get brighter when turn signals are used. Not sure what would happen when turn signals are used when lights are not on. I want lights to be LED, sealed, bright enough (2 or 3 LEDs in housing). LEDs should be a low enough power draw that there is no significant increase to the electrical load on the harness.

I know a couple people are in the process of working on this, would be nice to hear/see an update

I have 2009 XLT with tow mirrors, power mirrors with puddle lights, heated. I understand there are several options/wiring for these mirrors.
