Default Touch Screen conversion in 2013? Benefits?

So I came across this: https://www.4dtech.com/13-14-ford-f1...sion-w-sync-2/

Pretty pricey, but who knows. I might have some disposable income when I am done with having two kids in college later this year. I currently have the basic 4" MyFord version in my 2013.

Trying to figure out what the advantages and/or niceties would be beyond having the touch screen.

With my current version I have:

AM/FM/CD/Sirius
Bluetooth Streaming from my phone
Voice Commands for making receiving calls, going to Bluetooth audio etc....
Backup camera in my rear view mirror.

I am perfectly content to let Siri navigate me around via my iPhone so I would go with the non-Navigation version. The Navigation version is 400.00 more.

Beyond the nice large touch screen, for those who have the 8" Sync 2 version already is there anything else I should be aware of that would be worth the 1299.00 price tag?

Thanks!

I can't imagine how this is remotely worth doing. And I have the 4.2" screen and no Sync 2.

Take a look at those two threads. Folks on here have figured out how to replace the 4.2" screen with the new Ford Sync 3 with Apple and Android support for 1/2 the price that 4d tech is charging.

Basically you are paying around a grand to have a bigger screen that displays what's on your phone

For less than $500 in parts, I went straight Android head unit with nav built in (I use Waze).

it costs quite a bit more to do this with the 4" screen. At least to my knowledge.

Thanks all for the input. I did some further reading and it seems the primary advantage would be a larger screen and the ability to touch that screen instead of pushing some buttons around the screen. I think I'll take a pass for now at that price.
