It depends on the insurance company.....if it was mine I would be asking for a new truck....loss of value in the future would be substantial.

Get your self a lawyer, as you have rights that need to be protected.

i would be highly surprised if its toast..but i would go after diminished value on the truck

and there IS NO TRUTH to the truck will never be the same story...if you get a good reputable shop to fix it you wont ever be able to tell

oh and OP it is 100% YOUR CHOICE where you get the truck fixed..the ins. co. will try to steer you to shops but you can say no i want it fixed here

know your rights

What is your states total law? In louisiana it is 75% vehicles blue book/appraised value.

Bring it anywhere you want to have it repaired, the companies can not tell you where to fix it or store it. If it's that new I would suggest a good ford dealer, last thing you want is another shops repairs to void a warranty, also make sure they use the right trim model when valuing the truck if you want it totaled. They used the most expensive 2012 escape for my wife's 4 banger so it wouldn't total, we couldn't afford a new one, i was out of a job, and the dealer wanted the labor money, and it drives just as good as the day it was bought, all front end repairs too.

I doubt it's totaled. My mother was T-bones in a new Buick car and it looked much worse than your truck and hers was not totaled. Personally I would not want them to just fix that if it was my truck I would be pushing for it to be totaled imo

Crappy allstate ins. In illinois totals out at 80% of value of the car. Inlaws found this out the hard way.

The only problem that I have with this comment is the "value" of the truck at trade in.

Op, I live in WI like you, but work in MN, so I can't accurately say which way it will go for WI, it varies state to state. It all depends on your insurance as well. I know when I lived in Massachusetts, commerce ins would total at 50%. On my policy, liberty mutual totals higher, I believe it is 66%
its usually 50% here in CA

We can make an educated guess with what we are given. I bet I could get it right if it was two GREAT pics.

It is not totaled. That being said, once you get it fixed it is going to have a depreciated value. Carfax will show it being in a accident and your title to the vehicle may also reflect a salvage. Even if they fix the truck the insurance company should award you a lump sum of cash because of the diminished value. Be careful and be firm in what you want. Good luck.

Our definition of "educated guess" is clearly different. I could make an educated guess on the outcome of a coin flip with 2 pics as well.

I meant no offense with my observation. My point was, to say it's definitely one way or the other, with only 2 pics, and no other info(i.e. at fault parties insurance total percentage, original estimate, etc) is purely a guessing game. Hell, insurance agents don't get it right a lot of the time. The truck in the pics of my previous post was labeled as a total at first as well, by the at fault parties insurance.
